Extraction solves this by injecting cleaning solution into the fiber and immediately pulling it back out along with suspended soil. The water that comes out tells the story better than any before-and-after photo.
Our carpet cleaning process
- Thorough dry vacuum first, including edges, under the seats and the trunk or cargo area
- Pre-spray of the carpet with a cleaner matched to the soiling type
- Mechanical agitation to release grit from the backing, not just the surface
- Hot-water extraction pass, then a dry pass to pull out as much moisture as possible
- Floor mats cleaned separately so their soil is not re-deposited into the carpet
Why Sacramento carpets get gray
Our long dry season means fine dust is airborne for months at a time. It settles on shoes, gets carried in and grinds against carpet fibers each time you get in and out. Over a couple of years that abrasion dulls the fiber itself, which is why heavily neglected carpets improve dramatically but may not return to their original shade.
Winter is the opposite problem: the first rains turn parking-lot dust into mud, and wet floor mats trap it against the carpet underneath.
Drying and aftercare
We extract as much moisture as possible, but carpets will be damp when we finish. Crack the windows for a few hours if the weather allows. In Sacramento's dry heat carpets are usually dry the same day; on cool, damp winter days plan on overnight.
Good rubber all-weather mats are the single best way to protect freshly cleaned carpet, particularly for trucks and anything that visits jobsites, trailheads or the river.
Frequently asked questions
Will extraction remove every stain?
Most soiling comes out. Dye-based stains from red drinks, ink or some cosmetics may lighten substantially without disappearing entirely.
Can you clean the trunk carpet too?
Yes, cargo areas are included in interior services and are often where the worst soiling hides.
Do you clean floor mats separately?
Always. Cleaning mats in place just pushes their dirt into the carpet below them.
